Incident Maps
GeoPDF Maps can be uploaded to Tactical Analyst Web and automatically converted to TPK files which can be downloaded and used on Tactical Analyst Mobile.
Upload GeoPDF Map to Tactical Analyst Web
On Tactical Analyst Web, select the incident you want to upload from the Incidents list
On the Incident Card, click the Maps tab
Click Upload
Click Select File
Use the File Explorer on your computer to select a GeoPDF Map file
After adding the GeoPDF Map file, click Upload File
The file will appear in the Maps tab when the upload is complete. Wait for about 5 minutes to allow the system to convert the GeoPDF Map file to a TPK file. Continue to the next set of instructions “Download Incident TPK Files” below.
Note: Only click the Upload File button one time. The upload process may take some time to complete depending on the size of the GeoPDF Map file.
Note: Large GeoPDF files may require more time to convert to TPK files.
Download Incident TPK Files on Mobile
On Tactical Analyst Mobile, after waiting about 5 minutes perform a Sync All from the Home screen. Next, use the Incidents list to select the incident to which you added a GeoPDF Map.
On the Incident Info screen, tap the Map tab
Tap the Basemaps button
Tap the Download tab
The TPK file should be located in the Incident folder. Tap to download the TPK file.
After the download is complete tap the Local tab
Use the toggle to turn the TPK file ‘On' and close the Basemaps screen
Pan/Zoom the Map to use the TPK file as a Basemap
Download and View Maps on Web
Maps can be uploaded to Tactical Analyst on the web. Maps will be attached to a specific incident and can be viewed or shared by other TA users. The Incident Maps tab is where you can download and upload these maps for the selected incident and board.
Download a Single Map
To download a specific map:
Click next to the map you want to download.
Select Download and choose where to save the map on your computer.
Download All Maps
Click Download All at the top of the map list and choose where to save the maps on your computer.
Edit Map Details
To edit the map’s name:
Click next to the map you want to edit in the maps list.
Select Edit.
Once you have made edits, click Save to apply the changes.
Sharing Maps Between Boards
Maps can be shared between boards for the selected incident.
To share a map to another board:
Click next to the map you want to share.
Select Share.
The Share Content pop up will appear with a list of boards for the selected incident. Check the boards you want to share the map to.
Click Share.
The boards that are checked indicate which boards the map is currently visible/shared in.
Unshare a Map
To unshare a map from a specific board:
Click next to the map you want to unshare.
Select Share.
The Share Content pop up will appear with a list of boards for the selected incident. Uncheck the boards you want to unshare the map to.
Click Share.
Archiving Maps
Archive a Map
To archive a map:
Click next to the map you want to archive.
Select Archive.
Click OK to confirm.
View Archived Maps
Toggle on Show Archived Maps at the bottom of the maps list
Archived map will appear in the maps list but be greyed out.
Unarchive a Map
To unarchive a map:
Toggle on Show Archived Maps to show archived maps in the list
Click next to the map you want to archive.
Select Unarchive.
Click OK to confirm.
Sort Map List
By default the map list is sorted by Created (Newest).
To change how the list is sorted, click Sort and select one of the following:
Name (A-Z)
Name(Z-A)
Created (Newest)
Created (Oldest)
Search Map List
You can search for a map by using the search bar at the top of the maps list. The maps list will filter down as you type your search.
Clear your search by click the in the search bar.
Search only searches the map name.
Filter Maps
To filter the maps list and map canvas:
Click Filters in the map list.
Once you have set your filters, click Apply.
The map list will be filtered to only show maps based on your set filters.
Clear Map Filters
To clear any applied map filters, click Filters in the map list and select Clear All.
